San Dieguito Lagoon W-19 Restoration, San Diego, CA
The San Dieguito Lagoon W-19 Restoration project is a CMGC project administered by Caltrans and funded by SANDAG. The project provides restoration credits for critical transportation corridor upgrades along I5 in San Diego County. The project restores 64 acres of tidal salt marsh, 15 acres of brackish wetlands and 5 acres of riparian habitat. Over 1.5 million CY of dirt are being moved along with 20,000 CY of revetment installed and over 300,000 plants. The project also includes a 5 year long term maintenance period to help ensure the success of the new lagoon.
