The Restoration of the Tidal Wetlands Revetment Project for Southern California Edison (SCE) was part of SCE’s overall restoration effort of the San Dieguito Lagoon. The goal of the project was to remove existing shoreline debris, including concrete, steel rail pile and trash, and install a new engineered revetment section, with planting and a trail surface. The project was challenging due to limited access and laydown area, working in an active tidal zone while maintain water quality standards and the presence of property owners and businesses adjacent to the project site. Approximately 75 steel rail pile were extracted, with 12,000 CY of excavation and 8,000 ton of rock placed.
